Had a Great Birthday!

February 4, 2013

Dear Family,

Have I told you that I think you are the greatest family in the entire world?! I just love you so much! I really enjoyed the package that you sent me! And I loved the pictures of my birthday party. :) I'm sorry that I was lame and didn't tell you anything that I wanted or needed... I just never really have time to think about it. I really enjoyed the origami. :) ha ha and I was wondering what I was going to need a computer charger for... Thanks for fixing my laptop, Dad! :)

Guess what? I built my character a little more by digging some holes on my birthday. Just for you! And for the older couple that we were doing service for. But it just made me so happy. We planted flowers and lots of other yard work. When I was mowing the lawn the wife said (pointing to her husband), "Make sure to remind him that it is your birthday!" I had to remind them that I was very aware that it was going to be my birthday when we set up the day to do service, so I was more than happy to do it. They were funny. :) The husband isn't a member, but hopefully he will be one day soon. He said that he might come to the fireside that Gladys Knight will be coming to in March, which will be AMAZING!

On Saturday my zone leaders surprized me by showing up on our doorstep with a birthday cake. How nice is that? I got to blow out candles after all. :) Plus a family from St. Mary's came down and gave me cupcakes with Reese's on them. Mmmm I love being a missionary. :)

Sister Crowton and I ran a 5K on Saturday! (that was my New Year's goal by the way) We told Sister Pearce about our plan (p.s. Sister Pearce does Scouting too) and she mapped out a course for us to run. Plus, she invited our ward to come run with us. Sister Crowton and I run a little under 3 miles each morning, so we figured that by starting a little bit earlier we could finish and still have time to get ready for studies on time. It was a lot more fun running with people. We had about 7 of us total, inculding a less active member of our ward. And we began with a prayer. We should have shared the "do not run faster than ye are able" scripture as our message and we could have had a lesson in by 7 in the morning. Not many missionaries could say that they have done that. :) We will just have to do it again.

I ate crab cake things at a Japanese restaurant. And I didn't even throw up. The member who took us tried to give me sushi, and then I reminded her about the last time I had sushi and she took it back.

I got called to be a trainer. Aaaahhh!! -That was a happy, scared, excited, nervous, and any other emotion you can think of scream. It is going to be great! I get trained to be a trainer on Thursday. Pray for me. :)

I love you all! Have a fantastic week!

Love,
Sister Scott
